As the tree leaves turn colors and the weather cools, we are reminded that life is ever-changing. Welcome Fall! This month, residents can attend regularly scheduled weekly activities such as Book Club, Armchair Travel, Arts & Crafts, Sensory Group and more.
For Halloween, we will be doing an on-the-go trick or treat event, Friday, October 29th from 1:30 to 3:00P.M.

Where did the summer go? September is here and sweater season is just around the corner. Due to continued Covid protocol/safety, regular monthly activities continue to run as scheduled such as Farmer’s Market Tuesday, Sweet Treat Friday, Around the Room Bunco on Thursday and more.
We are welcoming OLA’s new Medical Director, Ramesh Viswanath, in the Angels Café on Thursday, Sept. 16th. Residents and staff will have the opportunity to meet, greet and enjoy some delicious treats.

The heat is still here and so is August. This month residents can enjoy activities such as Root Beer Float Day, Sensory Group, Paint and Sip, Wii Bowling, and a special Luau on August 27th. We continue to wear masks and social distance at all activities.

Sun, heat and beautiful flowers; this is July.
This month, residents are invited to enjoy regularly scheduled favorites such as Drum Ball, Farmer’s Market Tuesday, On The Go Happy Hour, Around the Room Bunco and more. A few special events such as Coffee and Donut socials, birthday parties and a Luau Party from 1:30PM – 3:30PM on July 29th will add to the fun.
A special thank you to our residents, their families and friends for your ongoing patience as we continue to update our Covid building protocols, allowing more family interaction and opportunities for summer fun.

We have added some neat activities, new ways to socialize and virtual events to our calendar this month. Residents have the opportunity to enjoy virtual tours of the Shed and Zoo as well as exercise virtually throughout Brazil. The nice weather allows us to use the patios and gardens for outdoor socially distanced gatherings as well. Ice cream socials, Popcorn Tuesday and Friday happy hour continue to be resident favorites.

March is finally here! This month residents have the opportunity to enjoy Chair Yoga and Exercises, Movie Matinees, Around the Room Bunco, Po Ki O, Arts and Crafts and more. While activities remain simplified for now, we look forward to a future of larger gatherings, music, volunteer/guest talent shows and family opportunities to visit.

*All activity participants wear masks, remain socially distant, use their own activity items (such as arts and crafts tools, dice for games etc.) and are encouraged to wash their hands.
March is here! This month our activity calendar is filled with activities once again. For residents looking for seasonal fun, we have a Shamrock Shake Social on Friday the 13th and a St. Patrick’s Day Party on Tuesday the 17th.
What’s Cookin’ includes mini key lime pie, rice crispy treats, cheesecake parfait, and cookies. We are continuing Breathing Yoga classes with instructor Bill at 10:00am on Wednesday the 4th and 18th.
As always, regularly scheduled programs continue this month such as Prayers and Rosary with Marguerite, Monday Exercises, Movies in the A1 Auditorium and more.

We are always thankful for our residents, staff, administration and OLA community this time of year. This month, we have our regularly scheduled activities along with some fun and seasonal surprises.
Residents with a love for cooking (or taste testing!) can participate in making their own mini pumpkins pies as well as making their own holiday trail mix on Monday, Nov. 11th and 18th. Some other activities include seasonal arts and crafts, Tea Party, and Shake Social.
On the 28th, residents can start their Thanksgiving off with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade at 10 AM followed by a traditional Thanksgiving day meal later that day. Family is welcome as well! Click here for more details on joining your loved one(s) for OLA’s Thanksgiving Feast.

July is here and so are this month’s activities. Along with regularly scheduled weekly activities, we have scheduled some patriotic, space-tacular, and even Christmas in July (yes we said it) to-dos for this month!
On Wednesday, July 3rd, seniors can jump-start their 4th of July celebrations with an Ice Cream Picnic at 2p.m. Friday, July 19th at 2p.m. will be a Buzz and Neil Space Party and Discussion. All are welcome!
In addition to our weekly music classes, we will have Sing-a-Long Entertainment with Pauline and Joe on Saturday, July 20th at 10a.m., as well as a 6:30p.m. Concert on the Lawn with Tim Wilsey on the 23rd.
